Guatemala Threshold - Improving Customs

The governments of Guatemala and the United States (Millennium Challenge Corporation, MCC) signed a $28 million Threshold Program Agreement in April 2015. The U.S. Department of Treasury, through the Office of Technical Assistance, is implementing the $2.6m Guatemala Tax and Customs Administration Activity. It is working with the Government of Guatemala’s (GOG) Programa Nacional de Competitividad (PRONACOM) and Superintendencia de Administración Tributaria (SAT, Guatemala’s Customs Authority) on activities to “support Government reforms to increase the availability of resources by improving the efficiency of tax and customs administration”.
